TeraCart vs Dukaan for Indian D2C brands

Updated · Written by the TeraCart team

TeraCart and Dukaan are both rupee-priced store builders for Indian sellers, and they charge in different ways. Dukaan is cheaper to start, with plans from ₹299 a month or ₹2,500 a year, but it adds a per-order service fee that its own pricing page lists at up to 4.99%, capped at ₹200 an order. TeraCart takes 0% of your sales on your own Razorpay or PayU account and charges ₹999 a month for Plus, so the cheaper platform depends on how much you sell each month.

What each platform costs

This is what Dukaan's pricing page showed on 21 October 2026, next to TeraCart's list prices. Dukaan shows a discounted price against a higher struck-through one; these are the prices it asks.

Dukaan Growth₹999₹8,000Service fee, see below

TeraCart Plus₹999₹9,9900%
TeraCart Pro₹2,999₹29,9900%
TeraCart Max₹7,999₹79,9900%

TeraCart's 0% applies when you use your own Razorpay or PayU account, and your provider still charges its processing fee. Tera Pay, TeraCart's optional built-in payments, charges 1.75% per payment. Dukaan says its service fee is on top of payment gateway charges too.

Dukaan's service fee, in rupees

Dukaan's pricing page says it charges a service fee on sales made through the platform, capped at ₹200 an order and not applied to manual orders. Its comparison table lists 4.99%, 3.99%, 1.99% and 0.99% across its four plans in order. Its FAQ gives 4.99%, 3.99% and 1.99% for Starter, Growth and Enterprise. The two do not line up, so ask Dukaan which rate your plan carries before you compare.

4.99%₹4,990₹0
3.99%₹3,990₹0
1.99%₹1,990₹0
0.99%₹990₹0

The cap helps on large orders: on an order of ₹10,000, even 4.99% would be ₹499, so Dukaan charges ₹200. For a typical order of ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 the cap does not apply and the fee is simply the percentage.

Features side by side

Dukaan's column reads only what its pricing page lists. A feature missing from that page may still exist, so check with Dukaan before you rule it out.

Where Dukaan is the better fit

  • A lower starting price. Starter is ₹299 a month, against ₹999 for TeraCart Plus. If your sales are small, that gap can outweigh the service fee.
  • Several stores or warehouses. Dukaan lists up to 10 stores and 20 warehouses on its top plan, plus a marketplace integration powered by Unicommerce and its own delivery service.
  • Mobile apps. Dukaan lists Android and iOS apps for running a store. TeraCart's phone app is still coming soon.
  • A longer track record among Indian store builders, and a larger library of plugins.

Where TeraCart is the better fit

  • You expect to sell more. A 0% platform fee does not grow with your sales, while a percentage fee does.
  • GST and COD are your daily work. GST invoices and COD confirmation are on every plan, including Free.
  • You want to see what shoppers do. Heatmaps, session replay and live chat are included, not extra plugins.
  • You want to start free. The Free plan allows 50 products, and every new store gets 14 days of Pro first.

How to decide

Take last month's online-paid sales and multiply by Dukaan's rate for your plan. If that comes to less than the gap between the two subscriptions, Dukaan costs less. If it comes to more, TeraCart does. Then check the features you use every day on both sides. The Shopify comparison uses the same method for a third platform.

Questions people ask

Is TeraCart cheaper than Dukaan?

At low sales Dukaan can cost less, because its Starter plan is ₹299 a month. As sales grow, a percentage fee grows with them and TeraCart's 0% platform fee does not, so TeraCart usually costs less for a store with steady online sales.

Does Dukaan charge a transaction fee?

Dukaan's pricing page lists a service fee on sales through the platform, capped at ₹200 an order and not applied to manual orders. It does not line up between its table and its FAQ, so confirm the rate for your plan with Dukaan. Payment gateway charges are separate.

Does TeraCart have a mobile app like Dukaan?

Not yet. A TeraCart app for iPhone and Android is on the way, and until then you run the store from its web dashboard, which works on a phone browser.

Can I move from Dukaan to TeraCart?

TeraCart's one-click move reads Shopify stores, not Dukaan. From Dukaan you export your products as a file and import them into TeraCart, which Plus and higher support. Customers and past orders need their own export from Dukaan.

Which is better for cash on delivery?

Both let you charge for COD and take part payment. TeraCart adds OTP confirmation of COD orders on every plan and, on Pro, checks buyers against refusals at other TeraCart stores. Read the COD and RTO guide for how each control works.
